My little baby girl turned 16 months yesterday! I can’t get over the fact she’s growing up so fast!
? I’ve just noticed that it has been almost a year since my last post here. Wow, time flies… Can we stop time, please?

It’s Mother’s Day on Sunday, and it’s the perfect time to talk about the most incredible thing that happened to me… becoming a mother.

Motherhood started for me when I first learned I was pregnant! You can’t see what’s going on but there’s something magical happening inside you… You don’t understand, but you are both physically and psychologically carrying your child. Your instincts kick in and you start right there, you protect that belly with your life. You change your habits, your diet… life changes, you are a mother now!
Magic continues when baby is born, you feel God’s power and love, so much love. After days into it motherhood puts you in check. You feel miserable and sometimes think you are not good enough. That’s when you look at your child and you realize you are doing a good job! You see love. You’ve got this and a new day starts again… you feel happy and you look forward to what tomorrow brings.

Each milestone, each smile and each new discovery means the world to you and all you talk about is how perfect and incredible your baby is. Your child is perfect in her own way and you love her no matter what.
I’m still new to it, but motherhood for me is love. For me a mothers love is a natural instinct, this instinct is the gift that God instilled in us to love one another, unconditionally.

MOTHERs, there’s no better word than LOVE to express everything you are.

Navy Blue Look

Today’s post is a very versatile look that can be wore either to the office or for drinks with friends after work.
I love colors and play with them. Navy blue is definitely one of my favorite colors. It looks great on any skin tone.

Here I chose pieces almost the same shade of blue ( pants and shirt ) to create a solid look.
For the office I added a burgundy leather jacket. For drinks with friends, I took the jacket off, and added more red lipstick with matching bag, both in strong colors so they can stand out on the look 😉

Look Azul Marinho

O post de hoje é um look bem versátil, que pode ser usado tanto para o trabalho, ou para drinks com amigos depois do expediente.
Adoro cores e brincar com elas. Azul marinho é definitivamente uma das minhas cores favoritas. Fica lindo em qualquer pele.

Aqui eu escolhi peças quase no mesmo tom de azul (calça e blusa) para compor um look sólido. Para o escritório adicionei uma jaqueta de couro uva. Já para drinks com os amigos, tirei a jaqueta e caprichei no batom vermelho combinando com a bolsa, ambos de cores fortes, que sobressaem no look.

The Ultimate Black and White Look

Winter is coming to an end (finally), and with it comes the transitional looks.
Black and white is back, as chic as ever. Here I played with proportions in a white versatile blouse that can be wore to work, lunch with friends or combined with a black mini skirt with leather details like mine for a night in town.For chilly nights I chose a long navy coat to complete the look.

If you’re thinking about an investment, black and white is unlikely to let you down.

O inverno está terminando por aqui (finalmente), e com isto vem os mais variados looks de transição.
O look black and white está de volta, e ainda mais chic.
Neste look eu brinquei com proporções utilizando uma blusa branca versátil, que tanto pode ser usada para ir trabalhar, um almoço com amigos, ou como fiz aqui, combinando com uma mini saia preta com detalhes em couro para sair a noite. Para terminar casacão longo azul marinho para protejer da noite mais fria.

Se você está pensando em investir em um look, “black and white” é um que vale a pena.

Bye Bye Baby Bump

Today I complete 40 weeks!! What a journey it has been ❣ On my last post I shared some fun applications I follow on my phone from Baby Center, where each week compares the size or weight of my baby bump to a fruit or vegetable. Today, the app says my baby is around the size of a small pumpkin… So true! Pumpkins are heavy and I can totally feel the weight. Awww!

These last 9 months have been a life changing experience for me. The sensation of having someone growing inside of you is simply incredible. As your body becomes perfectly adjusted inside to nurture and take care of your baby, you keep thinking on many occasions how God is perfect and this precious life is so wonderful.

I took these pictures in Rio last year, a couple of months before discovering the news of my pregnancy ? Frankly, I am so used to seeing pictures of me with my baby bump that it feels like forever since I have had that “Rio” body. I kind of miss my old body, which by the way I am aware can come back completely different, but I am enjoying my baby bump even though it hurts my back, is harder to style and doesn’t let me seat or sleep comfortably at times… I think I will miss this phase too after baby is born!

Baby bump body, these are my last moments with you. As I said, I am truly enjoying this experience and I am sure I will miss it as well. It has taught me so much, as I have experienced so many changes, all for the better. Thank you, however, it is time for this baby to arrive, and for us to receive the biggest gift that we could ever imagine. We have been waiting to meet you for these last 9 months!
We are ready!

Adeus Barrigão

Hoje eu completo 40 semanas!! Que jornada linda esses 9 meses ❣ No meu último post eu comentei sobre alguns aplicativos divertidos e informativos que eu sigo do Baby Center, onde a cada semana me dá o tamanho ou o peso da minha barriguinha, comparando com uma fruta ou vegetal. Hoje, o aplicativo diz que a minha bebê está mais ou menos com o mesmo peso de uma abóbora pequena… Abóboras são pesadinhas, e com certeza me identifico. Awww!

Estes últimos 9 meses têm sido realmente uma jornada de vida e mudanças para mim. A sensação de ter alguém crescendo dentro de você, é simplesmente incrível. Seu corpo muda, e tudo se ajusta e muda tão perfeitamente… É esta, dentre muitas horas, que você pára para refletir como Deus é perfeito e tão maravilhoso.

Tirei essas fotos durante uma viagem ao Rio ano passado, um pouquinho antes de descobrir sobre a minha gravidez ? Francamente, eu estou tão acostumada a me ver com a minha barriguinha de grávida, que já nem me lembrava como meu corpo era antes. Bateu meio que saudades do meu corpinho antes da gravidez, que por sinal eu estou ciente que pode voltar completamente diferente, mas curti muito e continuo curtindo esses últimos momentos dessa fase “barriguda”. Mesmo me dando dor nas costas, sendo mais difícil de estilizar e me incomodando ao sentar e ao deitar às vezes, acho que sentirei falta do barrigão quando a neném nascer.

Barrigão, estes são os meus últimos momentos com você . Como eu disse, eu amo você, mas está na hora da neném nascer. Você me ensinou muito, com muitas mudanças, todas para melhor. Obrigada! No entanto, é hora de recebermos a nossa maior benção, do qual estamos aguardando durante estes últimos 9 meses… Estamos prontos! Vem Vivi!!

Fall-Winter Essentials: Cape Coats & Ponchos

I am in love with the coziness, practicality and sophistication of these awesome cover-ups. Especially now that I am 30 weeks pregnant and my coats don’t really close very well anymore these cape coats and ponchos are the best options, for expectant and non-expectant mothers, and the easiest statement pieces, literally just pull it on and go.

There are many versions of the cape-coats and ponchos these days. You can look chic on the streets; wear it to work or to a night out in town. Here are some inspirations:

Cape coats and ponchos are not hard to style. Everything depends on your creativity. You can complete the look with posh accessories. Try going for thigh-high boots, skinny jeans or leggings with uncle boots, wide-brim hats, shiny shoes and statement bags.

We are having a Baby!!

Hi guys! I’m back! Happy fall!

I know, I know… I disappeared for the entire summer, I am sorry. I love to share my lifestyle experiences in this little space I have created, but especially this year with professional and personal commitments, sometimes life gets too busy… Also, with all these new social media networks emerging I ended up using the fastest, such as my accounts on Instagram (@lulupeartree) or my Facebook page (here) to keep everyone updated of what it has been going on.

If you follow me on Instagram or on Facebook you already know or have a suspicion on the reason of my disappearance… One tip: I am the happiest of what I have ever been in my life… I AM PREGNANT!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂

After months feeling sick, my energy is finally back so I am inspired to share and write about a few things I went through these few months, and what I have been wearing as my body continues to change.

This week I completed 28 weeks pregnant, but when I made the big announcement about my pregnancy to my extended family and most of my friends I was about 18 weeks – like you can see in all the pictures of this post 🙂

I don’t know how to describe this feeling… But I love to be pregnant. My body changed, my mood changed, my appetite, my clothes don’t fit me… Many things changed, but it is all for good. Of course nobody likes to feel sick, but it is part of the game I guess for some women. People say that to be pregnant is very special, it truly is for me. A time to celebrate every single change!

My husband and I are so happy!

Estou de Volta!! E, com Novidades…

Oi pessoal! Estou de volta!

Eu sei, eu sei … Eu desapareci! Me desculpem…

Eu gosto muito de compartilhar minhas experiências neste pequeno espaço que eu criei aqui, mas com todos os compromissos profissionais e pessoais deste ano, minha vida ficou super ocupada… Além disso, com todas estas novas redes de mídias sociais emergentes, acabei usando o modo de interação mais rápido, como as minhas contas no Instagram (@lulupeartree) e minha página no Facebook (aqui) para manter todos atualizados.
Se você me segue no Instagram ou no Facebook, você já deve saber ou tem uma suspeita sobre a razão do meu desaparecimento… Uma dica: Eu estou mais feliz do que nunca! Uma felicidade sem igual, que eu nunca senti na minha vida… Adivinhou? Pois é, eu estou grávida !!! 🙂 🙂 🙂

Depois de meses passando mal, a minha energia finalmente voltou, e agora estou inspirada e animada em compartilhar algumas coisas que eu passei nesses últimos meses, e o que eu ando vestindo, já que meu corpo não pára de mudar.

Esta semana eu completei 28 semanas de gravidez, mas quando eu anunciei que estava grávida para a maioria da minha família e amigos, eu estava com cerca de 18 semanas – como visto nas fotos desta postagem 🙂

Eu não sei como descrever este sentimento … Mas eu adoro estar grávida. Meu corpo mudou, meu humor mudou, o meu apetite, minhas roupas não cabem mais… Muitas coisas mudaram, mas é tudo para o bem. Claro que ninguém gosta de passar mal, mas faz parte para algumas mulheres. As pessoas dizem que estar grávida é muito especial. Gente, é muito verdade. A gravidez é um momento mágico, onde todas as mudanças exteriores and interiores devem ser celebradas.

Spring in Detroit

It is spring time, but you may have noticed that the weather this spring sucks! Last weekend was 45 degrees and raining. This week it didn’t start any different: 50 degrees! It may as well be fall!

Needless to say, I am not thrilled with this whole weather situation, all that I feel like wearing are bright tank tops and comfortable spring dresses. However, the way that the weather has been lately, if you live in the Midwest or Northeast of the United States, not only should dresses be part of your wardrobe, but also a very practical and stylish rain or trench coat, both ready to protect you from the spring showers in style 😉

Here is an outfit I wore while taking a tour at the beautiful and historical Fisher Building in Detroit, during a very rainy and chilly weekend here in Michigan.

É primavera, e tudo o que nos passa pela cabeça para o nosso guarda-roupa são tops, vestidos fresquinhos, confortáveis e coloridos… … Errado! Do jeito que a tempo anda maluco ultimamente, não só de vestidos deve viver o nosso guarda-roupa nesta primavera, mas também deve conter uma bela capa de chuva ou um trench coat o que são sempre muito práticos, estilosos e elegantes.

WHITES AND MILITARY GREEN

I love the flowers and how green the grass is during spring. Everything is so bright and lively; there is a reason for that, like everything in nature, and we call them May showers.

During spring months we can take advantage of whites, colors and prints combined with a nice rain coat or parka as we never know what temperatures the day can bring.

Here I created a casual look, by wearing some whites and accessorizing my look with statement jewelry and white backpack, letting the military green of my parka really pop.

Eu adoro as flores e de como a grama fica verde durante a primavera. Tudo é tão vibrante e cheio de vida, como tudo na natureza.

Durante a primavera podemos tirar proveito e usar e abusar de peças brancas, coloridas e com estampas. Tudo combina muito bem com uma capinha de chuva estilosa ou parka, já que nesta época do ano chove do nada.

Aqui eu montei um look casual, combinando algumas peças brancas com bijoux grandes. Terminei o look jogando uma parka verde militar por cima, o que fez a cor sobressaltar, o que trouxe sofisticação para a produção.

Fashion trend: The fringe effect

Fringes are here to stay! Fringing was a big fashion trend last spring and it keeps coming back season after season in a much more hip, chic and modern ways.

As seen during the 2015/2016 fashion week around the world; in both runway and street styles, fringe was spotted in color or in simple black. You can see fringe being added to both winter and transitional looks bringing sophistication, elegance and fun at the same time.

I personally am a fan of the boho-chic trend and everything fringe of all sorts and shapes: skirts, blouses, jackets, purses, scarfs, hair…! They make a statement and I that’s what I like about it.

Tendência: o efeito das franjas

As franjas vieram para ficar! Elas foram tendência em 2014 e continuam voltando com tudo, uma temporada após a outra, de forma muito mais chique e moderna.

Como pode ser visto durante as semanas de moda da temporada 2015/2016 ao redor do mundo, nas passarelas e no “street style”, as franjas aparecem com força em cores ou no queridinho pretinho. Elas são adicionadas a looks de inverno e transição, trazendo sofisticação e elegância.

Eu, pessoalmente, sou um fã do look boho-chic e de tudo o que tem franjas: saias , blusas , jaquetas , bolsas, lenços , cabelo… ! As franjas trazem um efeito poderoso para o look, e é por isso que gosto tanto.
